Mountain Ash and District Choral Society is one of the oldest mixed choirs in
South Wales with its roots dating back to 1964. As the name suggests, although
based in Mountain Ash, we draw members from as far afield as Cardiff, Merthyr
and Glynneath. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening (during school term
time) in Bethania chapel vestry in Phillip Street, Mountain Ash. Although we
currently number more than 70 members, we’re actively seeking new members,
particularly tenor and bass voices.
Members of Mountain Ash & District Choral Society on tour in Montélimar Every year we seek to perform one major concert, usually accompanied by the City of Cardiff Symphony Orchestra, and a number of smaller concerts in support of local causes. This year's concert saw us perform Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs and Dvorak's Stabat Mater. The concert was a great success with fine performances by each of the soloists involved.
